Project of the month - January 2018

1 January 2018
Herringbone pattern, both modern and classic.

The herringbone pattern used to be very exclusive and was mainly used in stylish residences. Nowadays, herringbone floors can be found in both classic and modern interiors. It can add an elegant classic twist to any modern room. However, the unique herringbone pattern can also give a classic room a very trendy look.

One of our customers, MM The Woodstore, wanted to create a classic ambiance in their modern interior. To achieve this, they chose a herringbone pattern with a Rubio Monocoat finish. “The customer wanted the floor to be as white as possible, and certainly not yellow. That's why we decided to fume and brush the oak.”

A wise choice because fuming gives the floor a more greyish look, and by brushing the floor the colour remains on the surface. As a result, the applied oil colour is clearly present and emphasized. To create an even more beautiful effect, the customer composed their own colour, which consisted of a combination of Oil Plus 2C Smoke and Oil Plus 2C White.

MM The Woodstore loves working with Rubio Monocoat. “Firstly, your unique oil always adds a beautiful colour depth. It gives the floor a deep and saturated look. Secondly, by using your colours the possibilities are endless, especially if you mix colours. Rubio Monocoat's products offer our customers a simple and effective system to maintain their floors. When using other oil brands, customers often need to wait a while before they can use the floor again and it requires a lot of maintenance. Nowadays, customers don't have time for this. They want to be able to use the floor immediately.”
